Licensing Requirements

Requirements:

Real Estate Salesperson

Salesperson:

60 Hours Real Estate Principles and Practices Course completion with certificate (with a passing grade of 70% or better)

 

BROKER REQUIREMENTS (changing as of 1/1/22 – see below)

Been actively engaged for at least two years as a licensed real estate salesperson under

the supervision of a licensed real estate broker in this state.

60 hours – Principles and Practices of Real Estate

15 hours – Real Estate Legal Compliance

15 hours – Real Estate Brokerage Principles & Practices

PLUS

(2) 15 hour Elective Courses

OR

Have successfully completed a cumulative total of at least 20 real estate transactions

during the previous five years

 

 

**Effective January 1, 2022**

Broker applicants, in addition to the above, must, in the three years prior to applying, been

actively engaged as a licensed real estate salesperson under the supervision of a

Connecticut-licensed real estate broker for at least 1,500 hours, instead of at least two years

as previously required,

AND

Represented a seller, buyer, lessor, or lessee in at least four (4) closed real estate

transactions.

Basic Appraisal Procedures: Appraisal Licensing/Broker Elective

Peter Vimini & Linda Sepso
Appraiser/REALTOR®/Instructor

Peter has taught Basic Appraisal Principles and Basic Appraisal Procedures for the Greater Bridgeport Board of REALTORS® for the past two years. He also holds the MAI designation conferred upon him by the Appraisal Institute and has appraised a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential properties. Assignments have included leasehold interest valuations, office buildings, industrial properties, land, residential properties, and special uses such as churches, schools, and government buildings. His real estate and appraisal knowledge has earned him recognition as an expert in court testimony and real estate litigation.
